This play is part of our community outreach initiative and is free to the public. On Love and Marriage is an original work exploring rights of marriage by anyone who professes love for one another. The play will be created by a group of San Antonio theatre artists and community members. The piece will be created and performed in the style of Augusto Boal’s community-based theatre and audience discussion is part of the production. It is to be directed by Rick Frederick.

In a small Texas town, Frances, a feminist and pain pill addict, goes ballistic when she learns that her oldest daughter, Sheena, has left a waitress job to star in “Bloodbath,” a cheap slasher film being shot locally by a sleazy director whom Frances knows and hates. And Mom is prepared to do anything to stop filming… even if it kills her. This agitating comedy is directed by Kyle Gillette.
